Thank you for expressing interest in joining the Linda Vega Dance Studio. It is going to be an exciting year! Fiesta 2017 was a fantastic year for our studio. Every year gets better, and I am confident that Fiesta 2018 will be even more successful! First, I would like to tell you a little about who we are.
The Studio is entering its 31st season and we are very proud to have produced thirty-five Spirits and Junior Spirits. We have an excellent staff of teachers, including Sabrina , Amanda, Jesalyn, Sofia, and Annissa and many special guest teachers throughout the season. These teachers are superb professional dancers and are specially trained to teach the unique style, technique and expression for which our studio is known.
Our goal, as a studio, is to teach the beautiful art form of Flamenco and other regional and classical dances of Spain. We work hard all year, focusing on technique, style and choreography. At Fiesta time, the emphasis is on having fun! It is important to me, as Artistic Director, that all students really enjoy performing. The audience feels their joy! We encourage students to participate throughout the year as well as at Fiesta time. Community service is an important aspect of our studio; we perform at retirement homes, convalescent homes, charity functions, schools, as well as at city fairs and festivals. Students develop self-confidence as they hone their skills. Flamenco dance and music is a very expressive art form; it is wonderful to see hidden talents emerge as students learn more and more. They are encouraged to show kindness and respect toward one another, and are taught to appreciate each other’s hard work. As a member of the Linda Vega Dance Studio, students are also strongly encouraged to extend these courtesies to the other dance studios in Santa Barbara.
Attached you will find a preliminary class schedule, tuition rates and a registration form. We will begin our fall schedule on Saturday, September 16th. Registration will take place at the studio on Saturday, September 9th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. You may register at that time or mail the registration form directly to the studio.
We will begin the season with technique and bulerias classes. At the end of October I will evaluate each dancer and put them in a class that most suits them and then we will start choreography in November. I will be looking at technique, commitment, attendance, and style. The goal of the evaluation is that each student be challenged, yet not frustrated by being over-challenged. If you begin classes late, you will miss this very important part of strengthening, and might end up in a class that doesn’t suit you. When each class is full, we will begin costuming. My goal is to start very early this year!
We will begin classes on Saturday, September 16, and do half month. The price of September will be pro-rated to half the cost of a regular month. October will be a full month, and every month thereafter.
I am very excited about our upcoming year, and look forward to welcoming you into the “Vega Family”! If you have questions, or would like to discuss anything with me, please feel free to call me at the studio: 963-0073, or e-mail me at: email@example.com. I look forward to meeting you very soon!
With my fondest affection,
